I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. I realized my passion for helping others find purpose and pursue their passion through my first business in the fitness industry. After selling the gym in 2015 with over 60 part time employees, I’ve been involved in many business ventures and have helped several start ups from the ground up.

I have two kiddos that bring me so much joy, MacKynzie 15 and Colt 13. I am very careful not letting my work take over the time I get to spend with my family. My husband McLain is great at reminding me when I get caught up in the hustle and bustle of running a business. We have 30 acres right outside of Clarksville with dogs, chickens and a pet pig named Joy. We love to travel, hike, swim, camp and do pretty much anything outdoors. Last year I was elected to the Montgomery County School Board. I ran because the future of our city matters to me, these kids will all someday be leading our city. The time goes by so quickly.

My current focus is on building a nationwide community of support for LOCAL and small businesses. As one of the founders of LOCAL Clarksville in Tennessee, I’ve spent the past eight years growing a “support local” movement that connects people with the businesses that make their communities unique. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of meeting thousands of small business owners across several states—celebrating with hundreds at their grand openings, and standing beside those who have had to make the difficult decision to close their doors. Through those experiences, I’ve witnessed firsthand the challenges business owners face, from financial pressures to the delicate balance of work and family to the complexities of leading a team.

At my core, I’m an entrepreneur who thrives on the excitement of the startup process. I love sparking connections, bringing ideas to life, and creating opportunities for others to succeed. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than watching small business owners pursue their passions and turn their dreams into reality.

Our mission is to support real people by championing small, local businesses and building stronger communities- one connection at a time. We lead with heart, think local first, and create a meaningful impact through every story we share and every business we support.

We started in 2017 by sharing the stories of Clarksville businesses on social media. We wanted to take the community behind the scenes of the small shops and restaurants around town to inspire them to visit. The pages quickly took off and we experimented with events, networking opportunities, printed guides and additional services. Through the growth, we made a goal to always provide opportunities for the businesses to get involved for free. Every locally owned business can add their listing to our website and app, post events, tag us in Facebook and Instagram stories, and get a LOCAL sticker for their door. Our team shares their experiences on our page as they are out and about supporting businesses. To this day we've done over 6,000 free posts on our page in support of the businesses in our community and beyond. Some of our paid marketing opportunities include anything from a one time post on our page to full scale marketing strategy plans. As we have worked with business owners over the years, we have seen a big need for a reliable company to support them in this way.

We want to take what we've done here in Clarksville and become the driving force behind a globally coordinated ‘support LOCAL’ movement where communities everywhere are inspired, connected and empowered to choose LOCAL first. Several years ago, we rebuilt our website and app so LOCAL businesses from anywhere in the country can add a free listing. We get about 50-70 businesses a week that create an account. Our team is active in Clarksville, Hopkinsville and Murfreesboro. We even have a LOCAL Tennessee page on Facebook and Instagram. Businesses can sign up for a listing by going to localinmycity.com.
